My practice explores developing a process of simple marks and gestures which are performed in repetitive notions to create a complex experience both visually and physically for the viewer. I work in a very physical manner and aim to highlight the performative nature involved in creating my body of work. In my work I look into the truth in human creation, bringing light to the exact actions used whilst indicating to how pace and movement may affect the marks made.

Motivated by a fascination in Minimalism, Op Art and textile pattern pieces I am forming ways of subtly exposing a phenomenological experience through actions, depth and space. This allows for a relationship to form between myself as the artist, the artwork, and those engaging with my practice alluding to the conscious and the subconscious concurrently.

Repetition forces change, both physically and mentally, this ideology is something which allows me to remain constantly moving forward in my practice and evolve my growing body of work.

Mae fy ngwaith yn mynd ati i ddatblygu proses o farciau ac ystumiau syml sy’n cael eu hailadrodd er mwyn creu profiad cymhleth sy’n weledol ac yn ffisegol i’r gynulleidfa. Rwy’n gweithio mewn ffordd gorfforol iawn a’m nod yw tynnu sylw at natur berfformiadol fy ngwaith. Edrychaf ar wirionedd creu dynol ryw, gan daflu goleuni ar yr union gamau a gymerir a nodi sut y gall cyflymder a symudiad effeithio ar y marciau a wneir.

Wedi fy nghymell gan Finimaliaeth, ‘Op Art’ a darnau o decstilau, rwy’n creu ffyrdd o ddatgelu’n gynnil brofiad ffenomenolegol drwy weithredoedd, dyfnder a gofod, a gwnaf hynny mewn 2d a 3d. Mae hyn yn fodd i feithrin perthynas rhyngof fi fel yr artist, y gwaith celf, a’r rhai sy’n edrych arno, gan gyfeirio at yr ymwybod a’r isymwybod ar yr un pryd.

Mae’r ailadrodd yn sbarduno newid, yn gorfforol ac yn feddyliol, ac mae’r ideoleg hon yn fy ngalluogi i symud ymlaen yn barhaus yn fy ngwaith a datblygu fy mhortffolio.
